Steve has extensive corporate and nonprofit communications experience with a focus on healthcare, technology, and philanthropy.

He has developed communication strategies utilizing a multitude of channels including email and social media campaigns, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Pay-Per-Click (PPC) ads, and media coverage. These strategies, executed across a range of different platforms, have resulted in increased brand awareness, donations, membership, conference attendance, and sponsorship. The press releases Steve has pitched and placed have resulted in media coverage on air, in print, and online.

As a journalist covering multiple topics including the House Intelligence Committee on Capitol Hill and the Maryland General Assembly, Steve has a unique understanding of building long lasting relationships with members of the community. His media contacts have been a great asset to corporate and non-profit media outreach efforts.

The writing, editing, research, interviewing, and analytical skills Steve honed as a journalist allows him to translate complex information into compelling stories for diverse audiences.

Previously at Northwestern Memorial Foundation, the fundraising arm of Northwestern Medicine, he managed digital communications and was instrumental in redeveloping a fundraising website focused on donor development and retention through the production of compelling videos and stories. Prior to joining Northwestern Medicine, he was a Digital Communications Manager at the American Society of Gene & Cell Therapy, where he developed social media and public relations campaigns to increase public visibility. Steve was also a Senior Communications Specialist for CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield where he worked in internal, external, and crisis communications.
